This is a 3D model of the Tyrannosaurus Rex from the movie Jurassic Park (1993), also known as Rexy. This model is mainly based on the animatronic and maquettes from the first movie.
Notes:
- Knowledge of how to use Blender required
- This model is rigged using Blender's Rigify addon and meant to be used within Blender only. The rig will not work in another 3D software! If you want to import the rig to something like Unity, you have to know how to convert it yourself.
- The head has higher texture resolution than body because I used a single texture for the whole (head+)body mesh because I wasn't comfortable with UDIMs yet when I made this model. I might improve this model in the future and make the details more accurate to the animatronic from the first Jurassic Park movie and make the textures using UDIMs so that the whole body can be higher res.
- The body texture and normal map are 4k, most of the other textures are 2k
- Includes two alternative textures: 1. Wounded body texture + bloody teeth 2. Red Kenner toy body texture (Use the texture node for the "Plates" that has Value set to 0 so the plates become black which matches the red Kenner body texture better)
- The default pose for the eye is "squinting" because that's the pose I sculpted it in but you can use the Asset library to change the eyelid pose to fully open or closed (or pose it manually)
- The mouth (gums/tongue/throat) is a separate object from the body. The body and mouth have mask modifiers to help hide unneeded geometry for renders (both meshes are "watertight" which results in some extra geometry)
- The cornea of the eye has a glass material and is hidden outside of renders (Note: If the glass material doesn't work properly it's most likely due to render settings)
- Use the "Hue/Saturation/Value" node to tweak body texture (for example to make it overall lighter or darker)
- Use the "Brigthness/Contrast" node to change the "roughness" of the body (Useful if you want to make it look more wet for rain scenes for example)
- Feel free to use and edit this model however you want
